Our mission
Working towards empowering orphans, vulnerable and the neglected children through provision of education, spiritual, physical and moral care services in order to bring back their hope and build a better future for such children
New Hope Children’s Centre is a home toover 100 children, mainly between 2 and 18 years old. Our children’s centre is aimed at providing education, physical, moral and spiritual care to orphans and neglected children. Our mission is to give them a foundation to help shape the future they deserve.
As an NGO, we are fully dependent on support and donations to provide a warm home, food, clothing, and proper education.
New Hope Children’s Centre has been supported by various different individuals and groups whom we have referred to as the Great Friends of New Hope Children’s Centre. We are thankful to all of them for helping us throughout the years and would like to invite you to join us towards this noble cause too.
After the many years of hoping and praying with our needy children, the good Lord connected us to us to SUUBI MINISTRIES who have continued sponsoring our needy children who pass their National Primary Leaving Exams to Secondary level and since 2012; so far, 80 have been sponsored from senior one to Senior six. Before God answered our prayer, our pupils who had done and passed their National Primary Leaving Exams couldn’t join to secondary as they lacked tuition to take them to the next level of Education but instead dropped from school just after their completion their very first level of Education.
New Hope Children’s centre is located in the village of Katabi- Busambaga in Entebbe Municipality in Wakiso district in Uganda. It is 1.5 Km off Kampala Road from the mayor;s Gardens as you follow Busambaga Road and 7 miles – 11 km from Entebbe International Airport.
The Children’s centre relies solely on grants, donations (well wishers), brick laying sales, jewelry sales and members contribution for its survival. Any help (in cash or in kind) is highly appreciated.
Mr. Mugendawala Godfrey who is a teacher by profession and formerly an employee of various government schools brought up, in his home, several orphans and destitute children together with his children.
He later on left employment and founded the New Hope Children’s Centre in Entebbe. The centre was legally registered in 2007 with Mr. Mugendawala Godfrey as the Executive director of the centre. Over the years, he has formed a team of staff, who dedicate their lives towards helping the children.
Most of our children are orphans, and other distress children without a home, or who are living with guardians who are unable to take care of them due to extreme poverty or physical disability. Today we have over 170 children in the centre, who come from the following areas: Buyende district, Jinja district, Mayuge district all districts of Eastern Uganda, Entebbe and Kampala the capital city of Uganda and among other various parts of the country.
Currently, Mr. Mugendawala Godfrey runs the children’s centre as full-time volunteer, assisted by 6 staff and a committee of 15 members. At times volunteers from the local community and abroad do come to assist.
